Maria Clara Souza was born in Santo André, São Paulo, and currently lives in Ribeirão Preto. She started playing tennis at the age of 8 through a social program in São Caetano do Sul.
Left-handed, disciplined, and highly committed, she trained at São Bernardo Tênis Clube and Instituto Próxima Geração, building a strong foundation for her development both on and off the court.
Today, Maria Clara trains at CT – Centro de Treinamento Nicolas Santos, in São Carlos, following an intensive training and preparation routine. Her work focuses on technical, physical, and mental development, with an emphasis on continuous improvement and building a solid career in tennis.
Her goal is to build a career on the international professional circuit, while keeping open the possibility of attending a U.S. university through tennis.
